DJI has officially released the DJI Goggles: a pair of VR-like FPV goggles that let you control your drone camera with your head. The Goggles won’t give you a 360 degree video feed that’s why we called it ‘VR Like”.
The DJI Goggles display a 1920X1080 image in front of each of your eyes. The company says that wearing the goggles is like looking at a 216-inch screen set about 10 feet away. You can wirelessly connect it to a Mavic Pro or Phantom 4 drone or Inspire 2 and use head movements to control the camera. Apart from this, a touchpad is integrated right into the goggles that will provide you access to some key intelligent features as claimed by DJI.
DJI Goggles are able to offer both 720p/60fps and close range 1080p/30fps viewing with an extremely low latency of just 110ms, Through DJI’s OcuSync wireless transmission system. However, only the Mavic Pro will be able to the advantage of the OcuSync Transmission System.
The headset is currently available for presale and will start shipping in late May for the price of $449.
