With the help of Google, ARM and LeMaker, Huawei recently launched HiKey 960, a Raspberry Pi Killer priced at $239. It has some of the latest CPU and GPU technologies.
The HiKey 960 is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 960 Octa-core processor, which has four high-performance ARM Cortex-A73 and four low-power Cortex-A53 cores. It comes with Mali G71 GPU. The HiKey 960 also comes with built-in 32 GB of storage and 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM. Well, there’s no doubt that this board is a beast.
Other features include dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. The board has a PCIe m.2 slot to add additional storage or wireless capabilities. It also has 40-pin and 60-pin expansion connectors and multiple high-definition outputs so cameras can be connected to the board.
The HiKey 960 can also be used to create robots, drones, and other smart devices. But it’s mainly intended to be a tool for developers who want to write and test applications.
